Wire Terminal lamps are the basic light source that make up all lighting products. Used in large quantities, primarily in subminiature sizes due to their low cost and long life, the Wire Terminal lamps are soldered directly into the circuit. In the use of wire terminal lamps, consideration must be given to the handling and soldering of lamp leads. The most sensitive point is the location where the lamp leads are sealed into the glass envelope. Avoiding mechanical stress, thermal shock, or chemical corrosives at the point where leads emerge from the glass is important, as any of these conditions can cause cracking or the seal area and lamp failure. All Wire Terminal lamps listed in this catalog are tin plated for ease of soldering. During soldering, do not allow the soldering iron to come in direct contact with the glass envelope. Solder wicking up the lead wires and contacting the glass should also be avoided. All wire terminal lamps shown in this catalog are of bead seal construction.
